Welcome to the ultimate Wiki experience! Described below are all of the tips and tricks you can use to master this app.

Toolbar

Backward and Forward Navigation

The arrow buttons take you to the previous or next page in your navigation timeline. If one of these buttons is greyed out, it means that there are no more pages in the respective direction. You can view your full page history by visiting the history panel.

Search Bar

This is the main way to navigate to articles that you want to read. Click in the search bar, type in the name of the article that you want to read, and a list of search results will appear in the popup window. Click on the result you would like to read.

In Wikibot, you will see a button at the bottom-left of the search popup. This button allows you to toggle search modes between "title" mode, which searches article titles, and "text" mode, which searches the text of articles for your search query.

Random Article Button

This will present a random article from the collection.

The sidebar on the left contains a series of sections designed to help you have quick access to related Wiki information. If you do not see anything under a particular section, there are two possibilities: 1) there is no information to show (e.g. no bookmarks have been saved yet); or 2) the section has not been expanded.

To expand a section, hover over the section title with your mouse, and a new button will appear to the right that says "Show". Click on the "Show" button to expand the section. If this button does not appear then the contents are empty.

Bookmarks

These are your favorite articles, or articles that you want to refer back to frequently. The bookmarks section can contain articles and nested folders.

The Article menu on the menu bar at the top of the screen has an option to create a new folder, and also to bookmark the current page.

Alternatively, right-clicking on the BOOKMARKS tab will give you an option to create a new folder or add the current article to the list of bookmarks.

Bookmarks can be re-arranged by clicking and dragging them, and can even be dropped into folders to create nesting.

Right-clicking on a folder will give the option to create a new folder within the selected folder. Double-clicking on a folder will allow you to change the name of the folder.

Bookmarks can be deleted through an option available by right-clicking on the bookmark that you desire to delete.

History
This section shows you the last 50 articles that you have visted.
Read Later

Sometimes when reading an article, you come across many other article links that you would like to visit and read. Many people choose to open every such link in a new tab, but this creates clutter and distraction.

Our solution to this problem is called 'Read Later'. The idea is simple: instead of opening a new tab for every article that you want to read, just keep track of a queue of articles that you would like to read later.

To add an article to the Read Later section, simply right-click on the link to the article you want to read later, and click "Read Later" on the small menu that appears.

Note that after clicking on an item in the "Read Later" section, it will be removed from that section. This is because you have now "read" the article. If you would like to store it for future reference, consider adding it to your bookmarks.
